......the first excellent entrance from Jennifer Arnold......Arnold relied not only on her vocal abilities, but also interpreted the character with economically inserted acting gestures. Her wonderful, round, velvety mezzosoprano had more than necessary high and commanded a satifying low as well. With her vocal technical abilities, Arnold made the role of Romeo fully her own. A fabulous performance!

Dido is sung affectingly by Jennifer Arnold who also contrives to give consistent character to this troubled Queen of Carthage....[Dido's Lament] is always a challenge to its interpreter since it has so often been heard out of context in indulgent concert renderings: Ms. Arnold dealt with the problem impressively, giving us an account of Dido's anguish that remained perfectly in proportion tothe role and its music.
