Jennifer Arnold is one of the most interesting singers of the new generation. Graceful and slender, with 15 years dance experience, her flexibility and physical faculty combine with her wonderful mezzo-soprano, to allow new possiblities and expressions in the world of opera. Her unique dramatic intensity and lithe, powerful stage presence has been critically acclaimed in such diverse roles as Carmen, Erda, Dido, Romeo and Waltraute.

Jennifer Arnold was born in Minneapolis MN. She went on to earn her Bachelor's degree at Stanford University. Besides her studies there ranging in focus from Linguistics, Human Biology, Philosophy and Drama, she performed regularly as lead singer in the Rock band "Walkabout" and studied dancing and acting.

After finishing her studies in California she went to New York to study music at the Manhattan School of Music. At the same time she worked as a dancer for choreographer Nina Winthrop.

Among her teachers have been Ruth Falcon, Mignon Dunn and Maitland Peters. She also participated in masterclasses with notable singers: Evelyn Lear, Regine Crespin, Virginia Zeani and Regina Resnik.

Jennifer Arnold has sung in operas and concerts in the United States, Italy, Spain, France and Germany.

Ms. Arnold performed in the world premiere of two songs from Sweet Talk by American composer Richard Danielpour with Edgar Meyer, Jon Klibonoff and Yo-Yo Ma. Sweet Talk was performed by Yo-Yo Ma and Ms. Arnold at a benefit for the Kennedy Library in Washington, D. C. on March 2, 1998, honoring the legacy of John F. Kennedy and his support of the arts (guest of honor President Bill Clinton). The occasion also provided a link with the 1961 performance at the Kennedy White House by celebrated cellist Pablo Casals.

In September 1998 Jennifer Arnold made her sensational debut as Carmen In Kiel, Germany. She entranced the audience with her erotic presence and graceful stature. Now beginning her third season in Kiel Ms.Arnold continues to excite audience and press with her powerful performances. In Opera Director Kirsten Harms' highly praised Ring Cycle productions, Jennifer Arnold impressed vocally and dramatically with her Wagnerian debuts in the roles of Fricka in Das Rheingold and Die Walküre, Waltraute in Götterdämmerung and Erda in Siegfried. At the same time she very successfully sang the roles of Nicklausse in Les Contes d'Hoffmann, Elke in Hiller's Der Schimmelreiter, Romeo in I Capuletti e i Montecchi, Fenena in Nabucco, and Fennimore in Delius' Fennimore und Gerda. In the upcoming season she looks forward to Fides in Meyerbeer's Le Prophete and Maddalena in Rigoletto, as well as further performances of the Ring.

Ms. Arnold gave several highly praised concert performances last season as well, including: a recital in April 1999 with renowned accompanist Dalton Baldwin, soprano Indra Thomas and bass Eric Owens in Philadelphia; a solo Lieder abend in Kiel, Germany; and performances of Mahler's 3rd Symphony.

In July 2000 as a participant in Joan Dorneman's International Vocal Arts Institute, Jennifer Arnold sang the role of Bianca in The Rape of Lucretia in Tel Aviv, Israel under the baton of Martin Isepp, Ned Canty, stage director.
